Scott Bader Volunteer for the Wild Life Trust

Throughout the calendar year, employees at Scott Bader are given the opportunity to take an additional paid holiday without effect on those they are already entitled to. The Scott Bader volunteering scheme allows employees to this additional day out of work in order to volunteer in aid of a charity of their choice.

On the 9th October a 2nd team of 13 colleagues spent a day helping with clearance work at Summer Leys, all in aid of the Wild Life trust. The team included; Jamie Newell, Kevin Olds, John Payne, Sam Boustred, Kirsty Brown, Glyn Owen, Pete Spriggs, Matthew Danns,  Mark Atter, Scott Prosser,Liam Tobin, Jonathon Lyall and Phil Tobin.

The volunteers trimmed back 18 willows of their 3-year growth and cleared a reed bed of scrub. The waste was carried to a bonfire (which resulted in covering their cars with ash!).

The Wildlife Trusts’ supervisors were really impressed with the huge amount of work the team achieved in one day.Volunteers

Jamie said “The day was a huge success and everyone enjoyed the experience and he’d be looking to do something as a Team again next year”. A very big well done to all those who took part, as we with Summer Ley’s and the Wildlife trust all the best.
